Parent Therapy Q+A

Please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions!

  • PCIT is an evidence-based approach where I guide you through structured interactions with your child to improve communication, strengthen your bond, and ease challenging behaviors. It’s designed for children ages 2–7, but can also be adapted for older kids. Unlike some approaches, I don’t focus on punishment. Instead, I emphasize connection, flexibility, and helping your child feel safe and supported as you grow together. You’ll discover that with the right tools, you already have what it takes to guide your child with confidence and love.

  • Every child is different. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all advice—I adapt tools and strategies to your child’s needs, your parenting style, and your family’s values.

  • Yes. I offer specialized support for PDA, focusing on reducing overwhelm, co-regulation, and creating accommodations that work with your child’s strengths.

  • I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies to help children notice anxious thoughts, manage body sensations, and build coping skills they can use in daily life.

  • Social Thinking helps kids understand perspectives, social expectations, and how their behavior affects others—key skills for friendships, school, and group activities.

  • I teach emotional regulation skills for both children and parents, so you can respond calmly, recover faster after tough moments, and prevent escalation.

  • It’s a respectful, skills-focused approach where we identify what’s behind the behavior and solve problems together, building trust and long-term independence.
