Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance directly. However, I provide superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. I also accept the Florida Empowerment Scholarship for Unique Abilities. If you have questions about payment or documentation, I’ll guide you through the process to make it as simple as possible.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept all major forms of payment, including credit cards, debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, checks, cash, and Step Up for Students funds (formerly the Gardiner Scholarship).

A card will be kept on file and charged after each session. For evaluation clients, payment must be made in full before the final report is released.

  • What happens at the first appointment?

The process begins with a virtual parent-only session (about 1.5–2 hours). This is an opportunity for us to discuss your concerns, your child’s history, and your goals. I’ll recommend the most appropriate tests, outline the time commitment, and provide a good-faith estimate of cost.

  • Will you observe my child?

If we move forward with an evaluation, I typically schedule a one-hour school or camp observation. This allows me to see your child in their natural environment. After that, in-person testing sessions are completed at my office in Winter Park, FL.

  • When will I get the results?

Once testing is complete, we’ll schedule a 90-minute virtual feedback session with just the parents ($400). During this meeting, I’ll walk you through the full report, answer your questions, and discuss next steps. You’ll receive the finalized written report within 1–2 weeks.

  • How do you help children feel comfortable during the evaluation?

I take a warm, neuroaffirming approach that celebrates each child’s strengths. Sessions are designed to feel more like friendly conversations and activities rather than “tests.” I take time to build trust, explain things in a child-friendly way, and make sure your child feels seen, safe, and supported throughout the process.
