Meet Dr. Brazendale
Hi, I’m Dr. Allison Brazendale (Dr. B), a licensed clinical psychologist who helps children and families better understand how they learn, grow, and connect with the world.
I specialize in psychological assessments for ADHD, learning differences, giftedness, and Autism, with a special focus on high-functioning autistic girls and children who may show traits of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).
My approach is personal, thorough, and neuroaffirming, celebrating every child’s strengths while providing clear and evidence-based insights. I also offer and have created a "flexible parenting" method for children and their families, as well as schools, drawing from evidence-based treatments and other child-centered approaches to find that middle ground in caretaking.
Beyond my clinical work, I have also co-created an autism assessment tool now being piloted across the country, founded a nonprofit summer camp for children with learning differences, and continue research on the benefits of physical activity for neurodivergent youth.
I also serve as a subject matter expert in areas including understanding comprehensive diagnostics, medical necessity, and understanding the severity of symptoms in autism. I also conduct training for schools and teachers to help them learn positive and effective methods for managing children's behaviors and emotions in the classroom.
Above all, I am here to make sure every child feels seen, understood, and supported, because when a child thrives, the whole family does too.
My Process For Understanding Your Child
When you trust me with your child’s evaluation, you’re getting more than just a checklist or a report — you’re getting my full attention, experience, and care. I take the time to truly get to know your child: their strengths, challenges, personality, and the little details that make them who they are.
I’m skilled at spotting what others might overlook, and I approach every step with patience, curiosity, and compassion. My goal is to make sure your child feels seen, understood, and supported — and that you walk away with clear answers and a plan you feel confident about.
This isn’t just my job, it’s my passion!
